My journey into Alexander Technique
I first encountered the Alexander Technique as a professional modern dancer after noticing the remarkable ease and fluidity of dancers in the Trisha Brown Dance Company. Curious about what made their movement so distinctive, I began studying the technique in New York with June Ekman and Jack Moore. Over the following years, my own movement became noticeably freer and more efficient. Beyond the physical changes, I experienced improvements in breathing, coordination, and overall well-being that had a profound impact on both my dancing and daily life.

Embracing the path of yoga therapy
My path into yoga began with more than a decade of dedicated personal practice. Wanting to deepen my understanding, I completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) certification with Sarahjoy Marsh in Portland, Oregon. Although I initially trained to enrich my own practice, I soon found myself teaching public classes. Over the years, my experience with the Alexander Technique naturally became woven into my teaching, creating a thoughtful, body-aware approach that helps students move with greater ease and confidence. In 2018, I expanded my training by earning my 500-hour RYT certification, focusing on the therapeutic applications of yoga for physical and mental well-being. While studying in India with my teacher's teachers, I was inspired to continue my education through the 800-hour International Association of Yoga Therapists certification program. That experience transformed not only my understanding of yoga, but also how I approach health, healing, and teaching. Today, I draw from this extensive background to guide you towards holistic well-being.

Witnessing transformation in every session
It doesn't necessarily take several sessions to work through an emotional challenge. I have seen a client move from an emotional dysregulated state because of a personal conflict to grounded and calm in a first session. These moments of profound shift are what I cherish most about my work. It's incredibly rewarding to help someone reconnect with their inner calm and find clarity, often quicker than they anticipated.
